This beautiful monarch butterfly pendant has been cleverly cast in sterling silver from an original Tania Mallow carving, finished with a sterling silver chain and clasp. 

The monarch butterfly is New Zealand’s most identifiable butterfly. Although found in many places around the world, the monarch is considered a New Zealand native because it became established here on its own. Scientists believe that monarchs were blown from New Caledonia and/or Vanuatu to Australia via cyclones and then blown over to New Zealand a few years later.

Tania Mallow has had a deep-seated passion for crafting since the age of 8, and her journey began in her father's garage, where she discovered her love for creating jewellery using bits of wire and beads.

With a determined pursuit of a career aligning with her passion for jewellery and creativity, Tania invested time and energy, ultimately receiving formal training under the guidance of renowned Goldsmith Chris Schweder. By early 2005, Tania identified a market need for quality handmade jewellery combining affordability with beautiful design, leading to the official establishment of 'Tania Mallow Jewellery.' With two decades of showcasing her work through galleries and stores across New Zealand, Tania has cultivated a strong and diverse customer base.
