The Boyd 28mm clinchers are an exceptionally light wheelset with all the features that make the Boyd's one of the stiffest wheels out there - They are definitely punching above their weight. The 20/24h version weighs in at only 1270 grams and commonly found in high end wheelsets the lighter you go, the more flexy they become - not the case here. The proprietry hubs feature some of the widest flanges on the market with 2x lacing on the rear - both drive-side and non-drive side. Sapim CX Ray all round and all hand built and pre-tensioned ready to ride - a complete package that makes these wheels stiff - be it climbing or sprinting. The BOYD 28C really emphasizes the feeling of lightness and crispness ascending your favourite climbs - No need to keep these wheels for race day.
The build quality and premium materials means these can be used everyday for training and race days. The new lineup gets a new refined brake track which increases braking performance with little loss of performance in the wet. High temp resins resist heat built-up and can be ridden on any descent and any brake pad.
The hubs are easily serviced a feature a slick bearing preloader for easy set and forget bearing preload adjustment.
A wide 17mm internal diameter which extracts even more performance from 23 or 25mm tyres and the 25mm outside width smooths airflow and creates a smooth transition between the sidewall and rim. This combined with the strength and durability makes it a great choice for any cyclocross build.
